Stay-clean showers thanks to invisible coating

Shower enclosure specialist Lakes Bathrooms has announced the launch of AllClear™; an invisible protective coating that repels water, dirt, soap scum and limescale on bathroom surfaces, like water off a duck’s back.

AllClear, Lakes Bathrooms explains, is a high performance coating to be applied to all glass used in the Lakes Collection shower enclosures and doors. The repellent properties of the coating should ensure that these products require significantly less cleaning than standard bathrooms surfaces. The company says that this leads to savings in cleaning time and associated cost of cleaning products.

Environmental advantages are also claimed to result from AllClear as it is recommended that cleaning surfaces treated with the coating need only to be wiped with a cloth. This, Lakes Bathrooms claims, should remove or greatly reduce the need for chemical cleaners. By avoiding build up of limescale and soap scum the growth of mould and harmful bacteria should also be reduced, leading to improved hygiene in the bathroom.

Even better than the eco factor, health advantages and stay-clean gleam, is the fact that Lakes Bathrooms are offering this new high-tech coating without extra charge and without putting up the prices on their Lakes Collection.

Sales director at Lakes Bathrooms, Robin Craddock, explained why this new coating is being offered without extra charge; “AllClear means that our customers can keep their shower enclosure or door looking as good as the day they bought it without spending significant time or using chemical cleaners to scrub away any water marks or build up. This is clearly an attractive advantage with multiple benefits that we want all our customers to be able to enjoy.

“Other companies charge up to £200 extra for specialist coatings but we are offering AllClear as an integral part of our product without any change to our prices,” he said.

According to Lakes Bathrooms, AllClear is now available across its Lakes range of bright silver framed or semi-frameless shower enclosures and doors. The company plans to roll out the coating across its white framed products and bath screens in the coming months.
